In a bid to ignite passion and drive amongst our youth towards sustainable development, the first workshop of theACT Project kicked off on the 21st of February, 2024. At this meeting, all ACT partners were involved: SOSU from Denmark, p-consulting.gr from Greece, FEG from Romania, Educational Organisation Themistoklis also from Greece and LeGO from Italy. Over the course of two engaging hours, participants delved into various topics crucial for understanding and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fostering cross-border cooperation.
The agenda of the workshop was thoughtfully crafted to cover a spectrum of essential themes:
- Understanding the SDGs: The workshop began with an insightful presentation on the SDGs, outlining their significance and the role they play in shaping our collective future.
- Cross-Border Cooperation: Participants gained valuable insights into the concept of cross-border cooperation, facilitated by experts from p-consulting.gr.
- Sustainability: Focusing on the core concept of sustainability, attendees explored what it means to them personally and how it manifests in their respective contexts.
- Youth Participation: A crucial aspect of the workshop was understanding and assuming the right to participate, drawing from Roger Hart’s scale of participation, and exploring various forms of civic activism.
- Leadership: The workshop also shed light on the importance of youth leadership, with inspiring stories shared by young leaders dedicated to driving sustainability forward.
Throughout the workshop, participants had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and activities, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. The session also included presentations of selected SDGs and an open discussion segment where participants could address their queries and share their perspectives.
The atmosphere was vibrant with enthusiasm and a shared commitment towards creating a more sustainable and equitable future. With the groundwork laid during this workshop, participants are poised to embark on their journey within the ACT Project, armed with knowledge, inspiration, and a collective sense of purpose.
The success of the first workshop sets a promising precedent for the journey ahead, demonstrating the power of collaboration and education in driving positive change. As we move forward, let us carry this momentum and continue to inspire each other towards a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow.
