Worldwide, violence against women and girls, is the most pervasive violation of human rights. Since the pandemic began, 45% of women reported that they or a woman they know, have experienced a form of violence against women or girls. 7 in 10 women said they think that verbal or physical abuse by a partner has become more common,\u00a0 6 in 10 felt that sexual harassment in public spaces has worsened.\u00a0 (Source: UN Women 2021).<\/p>\n

To promote awareness and join forces to end violence against women and girls, since 2008, UN Women<\/a> <\/strong>organize every year the campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence around the world. This year\u2019s theme is UNITE! Activism to end violence against women and girls<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

\"ACT<\/p>\n

The campaign commenced on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and will end on 10 December, Human Rights Day.<\/p>\n

The project ACT<\/a><\/strong> supports this initiative. There are many things that everyone can do to contribute to end this emergency and we want to do our part!<\/span><\/p>\n
